A 9° edição do IFIP World Conference on Computers in Education (WCCE 2009) ocorreu entre 27 e 31 de julho de 2009, em Bento Gonçalves/RS, e foi o primeiro WCCE realizado na América Latina. O evento é promovido pela IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing) e, em sua nona edição, foi organizado pela UFRGS (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul) e UFSC (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina). Também contou com a cooperação da SBC (Sociedade Brasileira de Computação), que é uma entidade represesentante da IFIP no Brasil.
O WCCE 2009 caracterizou-se por seu enfoque interdisciplinar, de modo que os temas foram abordados a partir das relações entre as Tecnologias da Informação e da Comunicação (TIC) e a educação formal e informal. Com isso, foi possível refletir sobre as contribuições das TICs para temas atuais, como: a redução das desigualdades sociais, a inclusão tecnológica, a promoção da cidadania e da consciência política, o crescimento econômico sustentável e a preservação do ambiente. Esse debate contou com a participação de profissionais de todos os continentes que trabalham no campo da educação e da TIC.
Neste site são disponibilizados os vídeos de apresentações que foram realizadas no auditório principal do WCCE (programação do auditório 7), configurando-se como uma síntese das propostas que permearam os debates do evento.
The 9th edition of the IFIP World Conference on Computers in Education (WCCE 2009) occured between 27 and 31 July 2009, in Bento Gonçalves / RS, and was the first WCCE held in Latin America. The event is sponsored by IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing) and in its nineth edition, was organized by UFRGS (Universidade Federal do Rio Grand do Sul) and UFSC (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina). It also counted with the cooperation of SBC (Sociedade Brasileira de Computação), which is an entity of IFIP in Brazil.
The WCCE 2009 was characterized by its interdisciplinary approach, so that the issues were addressed from the relations between the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the formal and informal education. Thus, it was possible to reflect on the contributions of ICTs to current issues such as: the reduction of social inequalities, the inclusion of technology, the promotion of citizenship and political awareness, sustainable economic growth and environmental protection. This debate had the participation of professionals from every continent working in the field of education and ICT.
